Locke Park Barnsley

Locke Park Barnsley

Locke Park Barnsley

Acrylic on Board.  Size 40 x 60cm.  Sold.

My dad comes from Barnsley and we often go and visit his sister and her family. I took this photo whilst we were there and when I returned I made this painting.  The first time I exhibited it, it was sold.

I like the simple shapes in this painting, but most of all I like the daisies.  They were all over the grass, and they seemed to make these little patterns.  I tried to contrast the lightness of the daisies, with the heavier patterns made by the trees.

About Tazia Fawley

I started painting seriously about 10 years ago. My main interests are sea-scapes and land-scapes. I live in Somerset in the UK and have had a number of local exhibitions. I enjoy working in acrylic paint and find that it is a versatile medium and sympathetic to my way of working. I am a self-taught painter and am fascinated by colour, pattern and design.
