Hello

About 10 years ago my brother Tristan, suggested that I should try to make some paintings. My very first was one of the Clifton Suspension Bridge at Night, and although it was my initial attempt, enough people said that they liked it to encourage me to continue. In fact it sold at my first exhibition. And since then I have painted 70 pictures and sold about half of them.

My main interests are sea-scapes and land-scapes.

I live in Somerset in the UK and have had a number of local exhibitions. I enjoy working in acrylic paint and find that it is a versatile medium and sympathetic to my way of working. I am a self-taught painter, although I come from an ‘artistic’ family. My dad was a lighting director at the BBC, my brother is a Creative Director in Sydney and my mum is a sculptor. So I get plenty of support and encouragement.

I am fascinated by texture, colour, pattern and design. I work from photos. Either ones that I take myself, or else ones that my family have taken. If you have a favourite photo that you would like me to make into a painting, I would be very happy to accept commissions.

If you like my work, please leave me a comment. Or, if you are interested to buy a painting, or commission one please contact: Gylda Thomas at gylda1@gmail.com

Taz, having only just met you and had the privilege of seeing some of your works first hand – I think they are terrific. I just love the vibrant colours and formations and each one tells me such a different story – and the feeling that comes from your work is amazing.

It will be a privilege to purchase the Christmas cards.

Taz: an old friend of your Mom’s who lives in Canada shared your website with me & your work has really inspired me–so much so that I have finally had the courage to pick up a paintbrush myself. Thank you. Your paintings are wonderful!!

    Taz,

How happy I was to find your blog! And even happier when I browsed through your artwork. You are so talented. I’ve looked at each of them a couple of times and each time see some different aspect in them :) Thank you for sharing them with the world! As a hot air balloon enthusiast, my smile got larger when I saw Rupert Flies Over the Suspension Bridge!

    Hi Tazia,
I have just read the article on line about the beautiful picture you have given to Prince George.
This lead me to look at all your paintings on line, and they are truly wonderful. What a very talented woman you are.

I am a retired lady living in Auckland, New Zealand. I have had many orthopaedic operations on my legs over the years and I have very limited mobility. I have a passion for Collage and spend many hours absorbing myself in this form of art. It is so therapeutic and such a joy to have as an interest. Keep up your wonderful work Tazia as it is exceptional. I hope you sell many pictures and cards.
It would be so nice if you could email me some time. My address is below.
    Regards
    Robin
